What would make Krypto the Super Dog faster than Superman?

​Considering that humans have a top speed of around 27 mph and dogs have an average 35 to 40 mph, you have to remember that we're not comparing a regular human and an animal, or a biped and a quadruped, we would be comparing two Kryptonian lifeforms. Kryptonian abilities are about solar absorption. Superman is the larger of the two lifeforms, and has more cells. Therefore, he's going to absorb more solar energy than Krypto. In addition to being a larger size, Superman has absorbed more energy than any other Kryptonian life form. For instance, have a go at the scene below. Superman faces off against a Kryptonian dragon, and while the dragon has the strength to restrain Superman, its durability isn't nearly as great, when exposed to an explosion that Superman easily survives.

What would Superman Do If there was a Nuclear War?

This actually happened in the pages of Superman Unchained. Every nuclear weapon on Earth was sent flying, leaving Superman to stop them before they impacted and demolished the planet. Superman co-opted alien tech dubbed “Earthstone”, using only his willpower and heat vision. He was able to destroy the missiles without detonating the nuclear warheads, and, well, he saved the world. Again.

Kong Skull Island Is The #1 Movie in North America - $61 million Box Office

Surprise, surprise--This film was not expected to do as well as it did. It took over the number the umber ! Spot from LOGAN. Although the LOGAN dropped to number 2, it brought in a healthy $38 million dollars domestically. The drop off while steep could be caused by the "R" rating. Or it could be the normal FOX drop off. Big Apple Comic Con 2017 Has Been A Blast!!!!

The crew showed up as expected and we are had a blast. While we really wanted to see Stan Lee because he is one of the main draws at comic cons, he unfortunately fell ill. We hope he get's better soon.
Luckily, Jim Lee was able to come through for the Big Apple, and sign autograph for the fans. You could tell, that people were very happy to substitute, after you saw how long his line for autographs were.

The Big Apple Comic Con to me, is a comic book fans con, it was created by comic book retailer Mike Carboaro, and continues to have comic & merchandising of every size and stripe. Along with comics, we saw T-shirt vendors and CGC, the comic book grading firm in attendance, amongst many others.
What makes it special is the more local nature of this comic con. With many local retailers, artist & creators who are all over place. It is also was longest and oldest comic cons in New York. A testament to this, is the amount of people attending. It was commented by several people how much longer the lines are. Success of course brings some growing pains.

Logan Is Number 1 WorldWide - Early Box Office Figures - $238 Million Buckaroos.

According to early box office numbers from Deadline Hollywood, LOGAN is on track to gross over $238 million dollars this weeked. The iternational receipts were very strong, making king LOGAN the 2nd highest debuting X-men title ever. It also broke the IMAX "R" rated record. It is expected to be the #1 film of the weekend and should bring in boat loads of cash. With Hugh Jackman (this generations definitive Wolverine), retiring from the role. Who knows when we will see another Wolverine again. X-23 makes a spectacular debut. So go check it out.

Who do you think makes the best Flash? As always there is a difference of options within the crew. Check out the video to see how it plays out.
Prior to Crisis on Infinite Earths, Barry Allen was the Flash. But When Allen died Kid Flash, took on the mantle for the Flash. In the Modern Age, Kid Flash a/k/a Wally West was the only Flash.
Barry Allen is back and is now in the Flash in the comic. Depending on when you started reading comics you may like one over the other. Barry Allen will always be the definitive Flash in my eyes. Punto Finale.

Whatever Happened To The Man Of Tomorrow? A Fortress Of Solitude Classic.

Cal brings up a great point in this video, Whatever happened to Superman being the man of tomorrow. While clearly an alien (his immigration status is still up to debate), he was seen by earlier writers of his comic books as the man of the future. He was meant to embody what we wanted our future selves to be. Unfortunately, current writers have not exuded the hope of a better future for us that the Superman represented.

Lego Batman Takes the Number 1 Spot Again!!!

Once again the Lego Batman was the most viewed movie in North America. Its worldwide box office now stands at $170 million dollars.
It now stands as the 4th highest domestic box office opening for a Batman film. There have been 9 major Batman films to date.
Warner Bros & DC have built the DC Extended Universe, with Batman being the cornerstone of their Universe. This ca be seen in the Darker tone the DCEU has taken for their films. The fact that Batman, has been a main character or had a cameo part in Batman vs Superman, Suicide Squad, a mooted cameo in Wonder Woman & Justice League. Quite a bit for any character. No wonder Ben Affleck decided to step away from the directing and focus more on script & production.

The Judas Contract is Finally Coming To TV and I Hope It Is Good

I can't believe it but DC Animation has done it. The Judas Contract, one of the best Teen Titan story arcs ever!! Is coming to the small screen on April 4th Digital HD & April 18th DVD & Blu-ray. DC adapted this story from 1984 story of the same name, that one of DC Comic's greatest artist/writer creative team - Marv Wolfman & George Perez.
We will see if having some of our favorites characters make this new version of the story popular: Starfire, Raven, Robin, Nightwing, and villains Deathstroke & Brother Blood.
If DC keeps faithful to the original story, this new video will be a hit when it comes out.

1) ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME. Iron Man came out in 2008 & Thor 2011. We have been strung along waiting for the INFINITY WAR ever since. WHAT A TEASE!!
2) One of the best things to me about the is trailer is Kevin Feige (aka Mr. Marvel Studios). In a brief monologue, he lays out the development of the movie.
3) The explanation of of what Infinity Stones as powerful cosmic singularities.
4) Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy & Spiderman will be in the movie --Sweet!!

I can't believe we succumbed to doing it, but we did. I would hang my head in shame but we had to review it. Why? Because like comics and the superhero movies & TV shows we love this show has an entertaining story. They may claim it is real, just like WWE wrestling is real--wink, wink. We know the truth. The question is whether this show passes the enjoy meter? And hell yeah it does. With crazy scenarios. One dude had a babies by his wife and his previous baby mother. ​Why Has Ben Affleck Decided Not To Direct The Batman Movie?

Its' simple it was too damn much. Come on, while he is an Oscar winner and box office star he is human. He has multiple projects plus family life going on.
Being the actor, director & writer in the cornerstone movie of the DC Cinematic Universe was a lot of pressure. Not to mention, his expected appearance in other DC films whether cameos like his in Suicide Squad or part of the team in the upcoming Justice League.
Not to mention his non-DC projects.
Ben did the right thing. He stepped back from his role as director so that hat he could finish a killer Batman movie script. Being a director means you have to wear a lot of different hats. By giving up the seat, I do not expect Ben to give up what vision he imagined for the movie. Instead, he will helped to pick a director who will work to have his vision realized on film.
Kudos to you Ben.

​Yu-Gi-oh Weekend is Finally Here, Now Its Time to Yu-Gi-oh Binge!!!!! On the New Movie, App & Tournaments.

This weekend will be filled with tons of stuff to do if you are a Yu-Gi-oh fan.
First up is the the 3rd movie in the Yu-Gi-oh franchise drops into theaters. If you were a fan of the last two film this should be right up you alley.
Second, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links has been made available as an app for google android & apple ios devices. While here have been some server issues, because of heavy fan game play, that issue should be remedied by now.
Lastly for you Duelist,Yu-Gi-oh Day is being held this weekend (Saturday January 28th or Sunday January 29th, 2017).
Visit your Yu-Gi-oh official tournament stores, to celebrate Yu-Gi-oh & participate in sanctioned tournaments, where there will be exclusive prizes.

​STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI (Episode 8) Comes out December 15th!!!!!!! You Better Be There.

Disney has finally given us the name and release date for Episode 8. As expected, chose December 15th for their latest installment of the Star Wars saga. Star Wars has owned December, with The Force Awakens, which opened December 14th, 2016, earning $2 billion dollars and Rogue One, which opened December 16th, and has now crossed the $1 billion dollar mark.

As for the name, it seems self evident. The Last Jedi, is clearly Luke.
He was the last Jedi trained by masters of the Jedi Temple - Obi-Wan Kenobi & Yoda. Rey will clearly be a new type of force wielder. Neither Jedi or Sith. If you have been watching Force Awakens, Rogue One & Star Wars: Rebels (an excellent show), they have all had common thread throughout, that the force is more than what the Jedi & Sith have developed.
I expect Rey and Ezra Bridger (Star Wars: Rebels) to be a new type of force wielder, who are not limited to the teachings of the Jedi & Sith.

I hope this radical change does not offend movie goers but makes the saga more interesting. There is no need to worry about whether The Last Jedi will be a box office blockbuster, because Disney will make this a hit like the other 2 recent installments. So run out and buy your tickets as soon as you can, this installment is where Disney makes it mark -- what we thought about the Light & Dark side is about to change.

Fox just dropped another Logan trailer. All I can say is "X-23" is badass!!!!
In the comics she is a female clone of Wolverine. This trailer clearly shows you that the apple does not fall far from the tree. This movie is going to be great. This is not your mama's X-Men movie, this one carries a "R" rating.

​Superman:American Alien, One Of The Top ComicBook of 2016

One of the most surprising comics of 2016, was the Max Landis helmed Superman: American Alien. It came out of nowhere to critical acclaim. It is a series of superman stories with a common theme throughout that explores a different view on superman, as a child, as a Bruce Wayne impersonator and as a hero. While it is not the typical superman story, it is compelling. Superman: American Alien, has featured in IGN, Kotaku and AV Club's best comicbooks of 2016. It was even a New York Time Bests seller. For all you Super Fans, this a must read that you should run out and get. As with Rebirth, DC is clearly demonstrating its ability to mine gold out of property everyone thought they knew.

Rogue One continues to print dough for Disney. It is expected to break the billion dollar mark before its run in the theaters ends. In addition, Rogue One is now the 5th highest grossing movie to open in 2016. And the top 5 of 10 grossing movies are all Disney properties. Kudos Disney!!!! Since you are minting money, dredging up our childhood favorites, please make good films.

12/21/2016 What can I say!!!! It was a great movie and it hit all the right notes. Disney & LucasFilms just can't be beat, they are going to roll in money. Whatever problems people claimed the film had, was not evident. Instead, Rogue One how now cemented the new Expanded Universe of Star Wars. For all the people who missed the Legends (the old Expanded Universe, discarded by Disney after the purchase of LucasFilms) storylines and history, they need to look no further now. Rogue One has now broadened the Universe and given us new characters to root for. As well as worlds to explore.

​Star Wars: Rogue One looks set to be a Hit!!!! Projected Worldwide take of $280 - $350 million Opening.

Rouge One, after all the years, months, weeks & days of speculation, will finally make it into theaters. It is expected to bring in boganzo amounts of money. money, its opening weekend. The early reviews have been good not spectacular, but I don't expect that to stop the audience from trying to see. There is clearly pent up demand for anything Star Wars, but as in our video (see attached), I voice some reservation. All I can say is that I am reserving judgement, but i am sure as hell going to see it. And in my hearts of hearts I am secretly praying that it will do all it needs to be done to be a hit.

​12/01/2016 - The History Channel's Vikings is back and with a huge midseason premiere. For all you Game of Throne fans going through withdrawals, this is the show to watch. You have sagas of real people who became legends. You have action, exploration, battles and wars. There is betrayal and friendships. You will be hooked. Watch it, watch it you will see. Ragnar better watch out for his boys. Especially Ivar, who despite being unable to walk is clearly going to be a leader of men. Even in the picture above he is in the front. This season is where the show starts handing off the mantle of the show, from Ragnar to his sons. I hope the show can do it because this premiere episode shows the potential in the new generation.

Harry Potter's Fantastic Beast has been dethroned at the Box Office by Moana, a story about a girl and a Demi-God!!!!!

12/01/2016 - Fantastic Beast run at the top of the Box Office is over. Moana, exploded on the scene and earned Disney 2nd best Thanksgiving weekend opening. Demi-God. It will still continue to make boatloads of dough. The Box Office for Dr Strange, on the other hand is petering out. Credit must be given to Marvel for bringing Magic to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It Rocks!!!

11/26/2016 - Calling all Comic Fans, Vendors, Sci-Fi Fans & Cosplayers--Wintercon is back again in NYC!!!! It will be held at the Resorts World Casino in NYC, which is accessible by car or public transportation (which includes free shuttles to the casino).
There will be tons of comics, artist, panels and autographs to be had. There will also be special appearances of actors from Mad Max and Star Wars among others. In addition, there will be Cosplay events all weekend long. Hopefully we will see you there.

Disney is Owning Thanksgiving 2016!!!! All Because of Moana & Dr Strange!!!!

Disney is making buckets of money with Moana. It is expected to are over $90 million or more. With numbers like that, it is clearly expected to be the #1 movie this Thanksgiving, and could brake the record of the Disney's hit film Frozen.
Doctor Strange continues to create magic spells of money for Marvel, which is owned by Disney. It is expected to have the third biggest box office of the holiday weekend. Which is good, because of all of the competition. Lastly, the wizards & witches of Warner Brothers, Harry Potters Fantastic Beast is likely to conjure up a 2nd place box office take.

Who said Harry Potter is the past? Fantastic Beast has roared into the future with a Huge Worldwide opening of $218 Million!!!!!

11/20/2016 - The Harry Potter franchise, aka the boy who lived, is showing a lot of kick for it's age. It grossed $75 million domestic & $143 million internationally. While some reviews were mixed it blew past the competition. In the end the battle of magicians was not even close. Dr Strange, after a good run of a couple of weeks, saw its magic taken over by Fantastic Beast. It grossed $17 million dollars. Next week Disney will seek to recapture its box office crown with the animated film, Moana. Can Fantastic Beast devour this challenge. Time will tell.

The Battle of Magic!!! Can Dr Strange tame Harry Potter's Fantastic Beast?

11/17/2016 - Marvel took a gamble with Dr. Strange and ended up taking a boat load of money to the bank. To the tune of $500 million, as of this week.
Doc Strange is undeniably a certified hit. The question now, is not whether the sorcerer supreme of Earth will get mowed down by the Fantastic Beast but how badly will it do.
I expect that the legions of loyal Harry Potter fans will show up and conjure up a Huge!!! opening weekend. With some estimates of a $90 million domestic box office.
There are many indicators showing that this will be the case.

Can the Master of the mystic arts survive this onslaught. My initial thought is that Marvel's Strange should be able to pull out a strong second place weekend, because they are targeting an older demographic than Harry Potter. Unfortunately for Marvel, I suspect that many more parents and kids who have grown up reading the Potter novels, casually or obsessively, will flock to the movie. I don't expect many parents to send their kids to see Fantastic Beasts, while they go to the Dr. Strange movie. I suspect they will all end up going to the same movie. Many may figure, that Harry Potter's Beast will be the magic movie they will see.

Hollywood once again has two large studio making movies that are being released close to one another with similar concepts, magic. There will be a winner and a loser. Meaning, this could spell the end of the Dr Strange's dominance.
I hope Marvel has racked up enough cash.

Magic is Real!!! Dr Strange, Continues Rule of the Domestic & Worldwide office.

11/13/2016 - Doc Strange continued to issue more magic spells, Grossing $50 Million Domestically, bringing the total worldwide box office of over $492 million. At this rate it should be able to easily overtake Ant-Man's total box office of $519 million, the second highest grossing superhero origin by Marvel. Can Doctor Strange,overtake the first Iron Man, which grossed $585 million? I am not sure, but it will definitely expend all its magic getting there.


Dr Strange is set to create more Magic at the Box Office this Weekend.

11/11/2016 - Once again Benedict Cumberbatch's film should continue to put a spell on the domestic Box Office. It should be able to easily fend off any competition up until next week's "Harry Potter's Fantastic Beasts". So far the master wizard's total Domestic Box Office is $110 Million, international is coming in at $240 million, for a cumulative $350 Million.

​Marvel Does It Again!!!! Doctor Strange Explodes On To The Domestic Box Office with $85 Million.

11/6/2016 - Doc Strange is a hit. It hit on all the right notes for Marvel and came up aces. It was the second largest domestic opening weekend box office for a Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) character film. Iron Man which grossed domestically $97 million long long ago in 2008 made $98 million. Marvel this year has been on a tear. It shows that audience are not tired of superhero movies as some critics have claimed. Audiences trust the Marvel marquee, because it is able to tell a quality story that resonates with different audience groups. Comicbook junkies, kids, action fanatics, and most importantly women. As long as Marvel continues to produce quality content, people will continue to throw money at it. The total worldwide gross is now $240 million, with over 70% coming from international markets. ​Dr Strange is the Real Deal !!!!

11/5/2016 - Just saw Doctor Strange and I have to say I was very impressed. This movie had a lot to do, from setting up a new character, his world and most importantly a new magic system. On all of those points it did a great job. Cumberbatch pulled it off as Dr. Strange aka Master Strange as he was also called. The world building was believable, though it had some small holes that I won't quibble about. But to me, the thing that would pull this movie down if done badly, the magic system was great. While it took a little to get use to, once I got use it I liked it. It will be interesting to compare Marvel's Doctor Strange's Magic system with, Harry Potter's Fantastic Beasts once it comes out later this month.
The film hit all the key Marvel hallmarks: humor, simmering love story and tons of action & explosions. Lastly the world defying twists and turns were very interesting. While similar to Leonardo Dicaprio's film - which will not be named, it took a different path. I think that was the way to go, since it would have been too similar to Leo's movie.

I enjoyed it and give it a solid B+ (or for those hardcore Marvel fans who will brook nothing less than an A, B+ is basically an A-)

PS Honorable mention to the Cape of Levitation.

​Wonder WomanTrailer is Off The Hook!!!

11/4/2016 - If you thought the first trailer was great, wait until you see this one. It is action pack and starts delivering some more of the story we got glimpses in the previous trailer. The panoramic shots are breathtaking. If the acting and story live up to the action, this film will be a huge hit. Let's me repeat, This Film Will Be A HUUUUGGGE HIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I won't say more watch it and enjoy.

​Gal Gadot as the Definitive Wonder Woman of our age.

11/4/2016 - I got to say the more I see of Gal Gadot Wonder Woman the more I love her in the role. In a video long, long, time ago I said that there was no way in hell that she could carry the mantle of Wonder Woman. Boy was I wrong. Not only is she carrying the mantle, she has picked up the statue, the base of the statue and has walked away with it. If the trailers are anything to go by, she will be the definitive Wonder Woman for our time. She could end up being one of the biggest superhero movie stars ever. If this film delivers as expected, the DC Cinematic Universe has a bonified popular star, who if given the chance may overshadow the Twin Towers of the DCU, Batman (very tough to do) and Superman (has given her an opening). These three are the holy Trinity of superheroes and if handled correctly, may finally challenge Marvel's dominance of the superhero box office.

​Huge Dr. Strange Interational Opening - $87 Million

11/2/2016 - You can say what you want to say about Marvel, its films are all the same, they are not that good, they rig the ratings on Rotten Tomatoes and it's marketing machine does a great job of hyping their films. What you can't say is that it's film do not connect with audiences. What Marvel has proven again & again is that if you put out a quality product people all over the world will come to see. In this day of media saturation, the public is willingly giving their hard earned dollars, pesos, yen and euros to see what Marvel has to offer. Kudos Marvel. On Novemebr 4th Doctor Strange hits theaters in North America. Will it also be a big hit here. Will audience flock to this new magical magical realism that Marvel is pushing. If the early reviews are to believe, Marvel will be hearing the Kuching of the cash register for weeks to come. Well guys, go out and check it for yourself.

10/27/2016 - The reviews are coming in and Dr Strange has a near perfect rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It seems that Marvel's first major foray into magic seems to be getting some positive reviews. I won't be reading or watching any of the reviews until I see it. For those of you who want to know, please a YouTube review.

​Wolverine 3 - Logan trailer released & it is off the Chain!!!

10/21/2016 - The Wolverine 3 - trailer was dropped on the world yesterday & all I can say is that it is off the hook!!!!! While it is not the version of OLD MAN LOGAN, I was hoping for, the trailer was fantastic. Hugh Jackman plays an older world weary Wolverine, who needs to be given a reason to fight back. The music accompanying the trailer, "Hurt", by Johnny Cash, catches the feel of the post apocalyptic times the movie takes place in. Professor X (Patrick Stewart) is also back, but it seems the X-men aren't around. He seems fragile, but you look at it below and make your own judgement. I am hoping this is the best movie in the trilogy, since Hugh Jackman is giving up making Wolverine movies
