Comic Book Hero: Brian Michael Bendis on Action Comics #1000
PD called it!!!! - March 17th, 2016!!!! he said in response to a question, what can DC do to revive Superman? PD said, bringing Bendis to DC and having him work on Superman. This was shocking statement because Bendis was one of Marvel’s superstars and no one could conceive of him leaving Marvel. But he did. I am not sure what pot of gold DC offered him but he is the man tasked with reviving Superman and will be involved with Superman’s comic book: ACTION COMICS #1000!!!! Run out and get it once it comes out along with its variants. This should be a keeper. Superman has reached the jaw dropping 1000th issue. Can you believe that Superman has lasted that long. In all fairness to the Man of Steel - Kudos. It came out of nowhere to critical acclaim. It is a series of superman stories with a common theme throughout that explores a different view on superman, as a child, as a Bruce Wayne impersonator and as a hero. While it is not the typical superman story, it is compelling. Superman: American Alien, has featured in IGN, Kotaku and AV Club's best comicbooks of 2016. It was even a New York Time Bests seller. For all you Super Fans, this a must read that you should run out and get. As with Rebirth, DC is clearly demonstrating its ability to mine gold out of property everyone thought they knew.
